From the images, the European spec five-passenger, five-door Insight Hybrid doesn’t has significant differences compared to the US spec Insight which will debut at the North American Auto Show in Detroit this Sunday.
The 2009 Honda Insight Hybrid features Honda’s new interactive Ecological Drive Assist System which could alert the driver via the speedometer that changes colors following the driver’s driving pattern, i.e. fuel efficient or not.
The Honda Insight is powered by a revised version Honda’s IMA mild hybrid powertrain which combines an electric motor with a small displacement petrol engine mated to a CVT gearbox.
The staring price for the Insight Hybrid starts at $20,000 and Honda predicts that the global sales could reach up to 200,000 units per year with half of the sales come from the US.
